Throughout 2025, we've been gathering and curating original poems, short stories and creative non-fiction from local writers that are set in, inspired by or a response to places across our city.

 

For this special end of year celebration event, we are officially launching the Raising Voices StoryMap - an interactive, online audio-visual map of the city, where you can both read some of these pieces and hear them being read in their author's voices.

Join us - in-person or online - as we launch the StoryMap at The Box Arts Club, the in-house arts venue of our parent organisation, Arts Gateway MK. As well as a live demonstration of the website, there will be in-person readings from some of the participating authors - and expect some other creative treats from the Arts Central residents too.

 
For Writers
To be considered for selection to read at this event, please submit a poem, piece of flash fiction or creative non-fiction that relates to a specific place in Milton Keynes. Submissions for this event close on Monday 17 November.
