We hope that the Frequently Asked Questions that we've listed below will answer most of the questions that you might have.

When coming to MK Lit Fest events, please arrive at least fifteen minutes before the scheduled start to allow time for registration and seating. Latecomers may not be admitted until a suitable break in performances.

  • Which venues are hosting MK Lit Fest?
    Most events take place at MK Gallery or its Event Space in Central Milton Keynes. Any exceptions are shown in individual event details within the programme, along with address details.


  • Is there disability access to the venues?
    All spaces are fully accessible.

  • Where can I park?
    While MK Gallery is accessible by public transport, there are metered parking spaces (free after 6pm) and the Theatre  multi-storey car park is nearby. There are a few disabled parking spaces at the entrance to Margaret Powell Square serving MK Theatre and MK Gallery visitors.

  • Are there concessions?
    We regret that we are not offering concessionary rates on tickets for MK Lit Fest. We are a non-profit making organisation and have kept all ticket prices as low as possible.

  • Are Day Tickets available?

    Yes, you can purchase Day Tickets for Saturday or Sunday, giving access to all events with the exception of Workshops, which must be booked and purchased separately, and for free entry events.

  • Do MK Lit Fest tickets give access to MK Gallery exhibitions?
    You will need to purchase a separate ticket from MK Gallery if you wish to attend the concurrent Paula Rego exhibition.


  • Are food and drink available?
    Visitors can buy food and drink at the MK Gallery Cafe. 


  • Will tickets be available on the door?
    Tickets will be available on the door for any events that have not sold out. Please allow at least fifteen minutes before the scheduled start of your chosen events for registration and seating.

  • Can I buy books and get them signed?
    MK Lit Fest titles will be on sale throughout the festival in MK Gallery Shop, and most of our authors will be available to sign copies after their readings.


  • Can children attend events?
    Please see individual event listings for events for children or young people. Children can attend adult events but must be accompanied by a responsible adult who should judge suitability.
