Looking to give your creative writing - whether you write short fiction or poetry - a shot in the arm?  MK Lit Fest offer you a small group workshop event (limited to a maximum of 6 places, to ensure everyone benefits) where the leader and attendees critique each other's work. Each attendee's writing of up to 1500 words (or 40 lines of poetry) will be distributed to other attendees one week before the online event, along with written guidelines on workshop conduct and on "how to critique". Steven's comments will also be emailed to each attendee following the workshop, which will begin with a 30 minute session on How to Get Published In Literary Magazines.

Steven John’s writing has appeared in numerous online magazines and printed anthologies, including Best Microfiction 2019 and 2020. He has won Bath Ad Hoc Fiction a record seven times and read at Stroud Short Stories on four occasions.

Steven is Joint Managing Editor at The Phare and served as Senior Fiction and Special Features Editor on New Flash Fiction Review from 2018-20.

In 2020, he completed a Masters’ Degree in Creative and Critical Writing and now supervises the dissertations of postgraduate Creative Writing students at the University of Gloucestershire.
