MinK2023 - The Judges

We would like to thank the judges of our MinK2023 Creative Writing Competition, Green Spaces in the City, for their insights, judgements, wisdom and generosity in identifying the shortlisted, highly commended and winning entries in each of the four participant categories.

Fiction

Jupiter Jones

Jupiter Jones lives in Wales and writes short and flash fictions. She is the two-time winner of the Colm Tóibín International Prize, and her work has been published by Aesthetica, Brittle Star, Fish, Mslexia, Parthian, and Reflex Press. Her most recent novella-in-flash, Gull Shit Alley is published by Ad Hoc Fiction.

Imogen Robertson

Imogen Robertson is the author of several historical novels, including the Crowther and Westerman series and the Paris Winter. Imogen also writes contemporary thrillers as Marina Palmer (The Russian Doll), and has co-written novels with former Labour Deputy Leader Tom Watson, screenwriter Darby Kealey and the legendary Wilbur Smith.

Poetry

Patrick Wright

Patrick Wright has a poetry collection, Full Sight of Her, published by Eyewear (2020). He has been nominated for the John Pollard Prize and teaches English Literature and Creative Writing at the Open University.

Steve Kendall

Steve Kendall has a long association with poetry in Bedfordshire and Milton Keynes, convening workshops and helping to run readings. He is a researcher at Newcastle University, investigating the development of poetry in the North-East. His work has been published in magazines such as Rialto, Magma, Strix, 14 and Perverse
